A poet and novelist, Marge Piercy focuses her work on progressive ideals, Jewish concepts and feminism. Her output of science fiction is small, but seminal. William Gibson credited Woman on the Edge of Time as the birthplace of Cyberpunk.

A native of Detroit, she has lived across the U.S., and has been settled in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, since 1971.

  • 1993 — Arthur C. Clarke Award for Body of Glass
  • 2004 — Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Hebrew Union College
