Linda Nagata (born in San Diego, CA) is a Hawaii-based author of SF and fantasy novels, novellas, and short stories. She was nominated for the 1996 Campbell Award.

Her novella "Goddesses" was the first on-line publication to win the Nebula Award. She frequently writes in the Nanopunk genre, which features nanotechnology and the integration of advanced computing with the human brain.

Her Nanotech Succession sequence began with The Bohr Maker (1995), which won a Locus Award for best first novel.
