Lewis B. "Lew" Martin was a Denver, Colorado fan who as a high school senior attended Chicon I, the 1940 Worldcon in Chicago with fellow fan Olon Wiggins. They rode underneath freight train boxcars for thirty hours to get from Denver to Chicago.

Martin played a major role in organizing the first Denvention in 1941. At the time he was a member of the Colorado Fantasy Society and served as its secretary-treasurer. He edited the CFS Review. He had previously been a member of the Denver Science Fictioneers. He contributed to the fanzine The Alchemist. He was awarded the First Fandom Hall of Fame posthumously in 2016.

He was a charter member of The National Fantasy Fan Federation in 1941. A Founding Member article about Martin by Jon D. Swartz was published in January, 2017 National Fantasy Fan.

Martin's photograph, standing with Wiggins, appears on page 101 of Harry Warner's All Our Yesterdays.
