(June 8, 1928 – March 8, 2018)

Kate Wilhelm (née Katie Gertrude Meredith), an American pro writer, established the Clarion Writers Workshop and the Milford Writer's Workshop with her second husband, fellow sf writer Damon Knight.

Her first published short fiction was "The Pint-Size Genie" in the October 1956 issue of Fantastic. Along with science fiction, she wrote many mysteries.

She married Knight in 1963; they lived for many years in Eugene, Oregon.

InfinityBox Press presents the works of Wilhelm and Knight in hardcover and ebook formats.

A remembrance of Wilhelm by Jon D. Swartz appeared in the 1st Quarter 2018 issue (New Series #55) of Scientifiction: The First Fandom Report.
