James P. Hogan

(27 June 1941 – 12 July 2010)

An American SF writer born in London who moved to Boston in 1977 to work for DEC, publishing his first novel Inherit the Stars the same year. After becoming a full-time writer he moved first to Florida and then to California. His writing was predominantly hard SF.
