Westercon 74, "A Bright Idea", will be held July 1-4, 2022 at the Tonopah Convention Center, the Mizpah and Belvada Hotels, and other area hotels in Tonopah, NV. It was originally scheduled for July 2-5, 2021, but was moved back a year when Westercon 73 was postponed to 2021 due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
The committee has chosen not to designate Guests of Honor, and will instead devote the funds normally allocated for GoHs to the member hospitality area.
The committee consists of Chair: Kevin Standlee, Assistant to Chair/Hospitality Lead: Lisa Hayes, Treasurer: Bruce Farr, Facilities: Mike Willmoth, Website Planning: Cheryl Morgan, and Travel Coordinator: Sandra Childress, with other members David W. Clark, Lisa Deutsch Harrigan, Kevin Roche, and Andy Trembley.
It was bid for by Tonopah in 2021, which was sponsored by San Francisco Science Fiction Conventions Inc. See 2021 Westercon Site Selection.
It will conduct Site Selection for Westercon 76.
