Gertrude Kuslan (also known as tKuslan) was an early fan who was the sister of fellow fan Louis Kuslan and lived in West Haven, CT. They shared a publishing house, LuGerKus, a fanzine, Cosmic Tales and the FAPAzines, FAPA Review and Nucleus.
She was briefly romantically involved with Earl Singleton, of pseuicide fame, who dedicated the first issue of Nepenthe to her. Nepenthe was a fanzine of poetry. Even after she became aware that the pseuicide was a hoax, she helped cover it up, putting on an emotional outburst at a Boskone.
She was very active during the 1930s-1940s, and attended conventions as late as 1956. Her photo appears in Harry Warner's history of fandom in the 1940s, All Our Yesterdays. She and her brother Louis were charter members of The National Fantasy Fan Federation (N3F) in 1941. A tribute to her and Louis by Jon D.
