Evidence[edit]

In Arcadia, he said: Honig's address is 256 26th Avenue, San Francisco, California.

That matches this 1940 census record showing him at 10 years old, born in California, with his parents George and Bessie.

The only good match in the California Birth Index says Harry Mayo Honig was born September 3, 1929, in San Francisco County.

Shangri-L'Affaires (B) 17, August 1944, noted:

The last time I saw him, he announced that he was no longer an atheist, but an agnostic, and that he was off to Pershing Square to get into an argument with the first bum that would argue with him. He has not been seen or heard of since.

An Ancestry.com family tree claims Harry Mayo Honig (same DOB, same parents' given names) died in 1956 in New York (no specific date or city given; no citations offered). There's a New Jersey death index entry for Harry M Honig, d. December 1959 in Verona, Essex, NJ. But without more evidence I'm not convinced he moved across the country or died; he could be alive in his 90s now.
