Stephen's Book Service was an SF bookstore run by Stephen Takacs, located at 45 Fourth Avenue and, later, 63 Third Avenue in Manhattan, from 1949 through the 1960s. Bob Tucker announced the store’s opening in the June 1949 ish of Bloomington News Letter. It may have been the first SF bookstore in the world, although Tucker announced Lloyd Eshbach’s store in Reading, PA, at the same time.

Takacs was well-known for always complaining how bad business was.
