Southern Fandom Confederation

The Southern Fandom Confederation was founded in 1971 at the New Orleans DeepSouthCon. Meade Frierson was its first president, and gave the organization much of its shape through his frequent SFC Bulletins and larger SFC Handbooks. Meetings are held annually at DeepSouthCon.

The SFC gives lifetime memberships to winners of the Rebel Award and the Phoenix Award, lifetime achievement awards for a fan and pro, respectively, "who has done a great deal for Southern Fandom." The awards are given out by each year's DeepSouthCon.
