(March 9, 1945 – August 14, 1988)

Robert Calvert was a British musician and poet, probably best known for his work as singer and lyricist with the band Hawkwind. Four of his poems appeared in The Purple Hours, a 1974 genre anthology edited by Lisa Conesa and designed by Harry Turner. Conesa organised a poetry soiree at Tynecon 74, the 1974 Eastercon, and Calvert was one of the poets who performed at the session. He also played a concert with other members of Hawkwind as The Sonic Assassins at Channelcon, the 1984 Eastercon.
