The Hall of Fame Award is open to any work of fiction over five years old and chosen by the entire membership of LFS. The awards were given to two works annually from 1983 to 1987, and to one work thereafter.
 
 
 
The first winners of the Prometheus Hall of Fame Award were ''[[The Moon is a Harsh Mistress]]'' by [[Robert A. Heinlein]] and ''Atlas Shrugged'' by Ayn Rand.
