Philip J. Castora was a longtime LA-area fan and member of LASFS, who served as club secretary. He was one of the fanhabitants of The Booby Hatch.

His early years in fandom were with the Pittsburgh Science Fiction Association (PSFA). He was a member of SAPS and The Cult.
