Graham joined the Golden Gate Futurians and the Little Men about 1950 before moving to New York in 1960 (where he was a member of the Fanoclasts) and gafiating around 1964. He was a high school friend of Terry Carr's. His first con was Westercon 3. He helped to produce the Incompleat Burbee. He was a member of The Cult.
He is credited with coining the phrase "the golden age of science fiction is 13" (which was later changed to 12.)
