NAL is an American publisher based in New York, and founded in 1948.

Its focus is affordable paperback reprints of classics and scholarly works.

Its imprints include Signet and Mentor. Many SF books have been reprinted as Signet paperbacks.

Although U.S. distribution represented the major segment of sales, the international market also had an impact on NAL's success.
