(November 29, 1942 --)

Born Margaret (Maggie) Curtis, she was the daughter of Betsy Curtis, an SF author and was already a fan in her teens. She and her husband, fellow fan Don Thompson, were married in June, 1962. They had met at a picnic at the home of SF author Basil Wells. Maggie graduated in 1964 from Oberlin College with a degree in English. She worked as a librarian until she quit to have children.

Maggie and Don were coeditors of the fanzines Harbinger, Comic Art, Rainy Days, and Newfangles.

They did the "Beautiful Balloons" column for Alan Light's The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom. When Krause Publications took over the magazine and renamed it Comic Buyer's Guide, she and Don were hired as editors. When Don died in 1994, Maggie continued as editor. She remained in this role until the magazine ceased publication in 2013.
