(April 17, 1923 -- September 12, 2002)

Biggle was a writer of both sf and mysteries. He held a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Michigan, where he also taught, was the founder of the Science Fiction Oral History Association and the first treasurer of SFWA and served as the Chairman of its trustees. His The Loom of Oral History (essays on the significance of oral history) was published in a limited edition in 2001 by the Science Fiction Oral History Association.

He was the long-time Friend of the Stilyagi Air Corps.

He began writing sf in 1955 and became a full-time writer in 1963. His story "Monument" was nominated for the 1962 Best Short Fiction Hugo.
