Kev Smith was an active British fan from the mid-70s to the mid-80s. His first significant activity was to edit several issues of Sfinx in 1973-74 as part of the Oxford University Speculative Fiction Group. Later he produced such fanzines as Drilkjis and Another Bloody Fanzine (both with Dave Langford) and his solo personalzine Dot, three issues of which were published together under the cunning title Ellipsis. He chaired Skycon -- Eastercon 29 -- in 1978, and edited a 1979 fanthology of British fanwriting named Mood 70 for Seacon '79. From 1980 to 1982 he was editor of Vector, the critical journal of the British Science Fiction Association. He won TAFF in 1982, attending Chicon IV, and was FGoH at Plergbcon that year.
