Joel Zakem is a Midwest fan and con-runner. He is a director at large of SFOHA and ran for DUFF in 1997. Attended every Midwestcon since 1968. He was a mainstay of Rivercon from 1987–2000 serving as head or co-chair of Program from 1993–2000. He was also Chicon 2000 Programming staff, LoneStarCon 3 Dealers Room staff, and a committee member for Detcon 1. He was a member of ALPS, KAPA, and FLAP.
