Joan Bowers is a fan who published the fanzine Outworlds (with husband Bill Bowers) in the 1970s. She was nominated for the 1971 Best Fanzine Hugo, the 1974 Best Fanzine Hugo, and the 1975 Best Fanzine Hugo. With Susan Wood she organized the Mae Strelkov's Friends Fund.
