Jack Dann is an American writer born in Binghamton, NY who is best known for his SF. He is also an editor and a writing teacher. He has lived in Australia since 1994. He was married first to Jeanne Van Buren Dann and since 1995 to Janeen Webb. He was a member of the Guilford Gafia.

He has published over seventy books, in the majority of cases as editor or co-editor (frequently with Gardner Dozois of story anthologies in the SF, fantasy, and horror genres.
