Illwiscon

The first attempt to create a regional convention in Chicago occurred in 1958 when Lynn Hickman chaired Illwiscon. Plans for the con, a relaxacon modeled after Midwestcon, were announced on April 14 of that year, and the con was held July 4-6 at Weller's Motor Lodge. Although subsequent Illwiscons were tentatively planned, none came to fruition.

Some of the other attendees included Jim Caughran, Sandy Cutrell, Howard DeVore, Bill Donaho, Ron Ellik, Jill Esternik, and Dean A. Grennell.
