(1907 -- 1976)

SF/fantasy artist Graves Gladney is known today for his covers for magazines such as Unknown, Astounding, The Shadow, and other pulps in the 1930s and early 1940s.

He served in the military during World War II, and after the war began a teaching career at Washington University in St. Louis, his home town.

He retired in 1960.
