Gerry Adair was a member of the South Florida Science Fiction Society (SFSFS) from 1988 till 1998. He was the editor of the club's fanzine, The SFSFS Shuttle, from October 1989 (issue #55) till June 1991 (issue #75). During his term as editor, he expanded the monthly newsletter from 6 pages of local club news and events to 20 pages of club events, Film & Book reviews, LoCs, and art.

In December of 1991, He co-chaired Tropicon X with Joe Siclari. The GoH was Andre Norton. In 1993, he chaired Tropicon XI where the emphasis was on Horror Literature. The GOH was Ramsey Campbell. Other guests included Editor Stephen Jones, Author/Actor Peter Atkins, author Dennis Etchison, and author Ben Bova.

Gerry currently resides in Georgetown Kentucky. He is an Associate Professor of English and Literature at Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lexington. He has taught Apocalyptic Literature, Vampire Literature, Intro to Holocaust Literature and Film, and Arthurian Literature.
