(Lowndes) - One who is interested in a different and better future world order, and the details of its inauguration and functioning; suggested as a term distinct from Futurian as used herein, tho its parallel in the Futurian Leagues is obvious

Note that this meaning did not catch on, and "futurist" now means someone who tries to predict the future through non-occult means.
