Eleanor Arnason

(1942 --)

Eleanor Atwood Arnason is a SF author living in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

She was one of the editors of the fanzine, All Mimsy.

Arnason's earliest published story, "A Clear Day in the Motor City", appeared in New Worlds in 1973. The anthropological focus in her work has led many to compare her fiction to that of Ursula K. Le Guin.

She has been a member of The Workshop, the Aardvark Writing Group, and The Wyrdsmiths.

Awards, Honors and GoHships: Arnason was nominated for the 2000 Best Novelette Hugo. She also won the first James Tiptree, Jr. Award, the Mythopoeic Award (for A Woman of the Iron People), the Spectrum Award (for "Dapple") and the HOMer Award (for her novelette Stellar Harvest).
