Duane Weldon Rimel was a [[fan]], poet and author of SF, fantasy, and detective fiction.  He discovered [[Lovecraft Fandom]] growing up in Asotin, Washington along with [[L. Lee Baldwin]]. (He was a semi-invalid due to inflammatory rheumatism in his early teens.) He was a friend of [[H. P. Lovecraft]], who helped him with his early work.  They nearly published a [[fanzine]] together, but it failed because because they couldn't make arrangements for a press.  He signed some of his fiction Rex Weldon.
