Dorothy Gertrude Quick Mayer was an early writer of sf, fantasy and horror whose genre work first appeared in 1924.

As a child in 1907, Quick met and befriended author Mark Twain aboard the SS Minnetonka. Quick published Enchantment: A Little Girl's Friendship With Mark Twain (1961), republished as Mark Twain and Me (1999) and dramatized as the film Mark Twain and Me (1991). In 1925, she married John Adams Mayer.
