Dena Brown

'Dena Benatan Brown was the second wife of Charlie Brown. They co-edited Locus from their marriage in 1970 until their divorce in 1977. From 1972 to 1975, Dena was Locuss sole full-time employee (Charlie was earning a living as an electrical engineer until 1976.) During her tenure, Dena contributed editorials and reviews to Locus. She now lives in South Africa.

As a high school student, she joined WPSFA in the late 60s and is also credited with the immortal words "Let's Take Science Fiction Out of the Universities and Put It Back into the Gutter Where It Belongs" at a panel at Secondary Universe III in 1970.

Awards, Honors and GoHships: During their joint editorship, Locus was nominated for the Best Fanzine Hugo every year, winning in 1972, 1976 and 1978.
