DC in '84 was an out-of-rotation bid for the 1984 Worldcon. The bid committee felt that 1984 was just naturally a year to hold Worldcon in DC. The bid committee moved at the Iguanacon WSFS Business meeting to amend the three-zone rotation so the east would be eligible to host the Worldcon in 1984. The motion was defeated.

After it was clear that the DC in '84 bid would not be allowed, Kent Bloom stepped down as the bid's chairman and Mike Walsh, the head of Baltimore in '83, was elected in his place. The DC bidders mostly moved to supporting Baltimore.

The only actual bid for 1984 (there were hoax bids for Ingolstadt in 1984 and Kent in 1984) was LA in 1984 which won and went on to run L.A.con II. See 1984 Site Selection.
