Charles Henri Diederick Hoefsmit de Lint is a Netherlands-born Canadian fantasy writer who helped develop and popularize urban fantasy, most notably through The Borderland Series. His first publication was in 1974 and first book in 1984. Besides writing fantasy, he is a regular book reviewer for F&SF.

He operates the small press Triskell Press. He has also been a judge for the World Fantasy Award, the Theodore Sturgeon Award and the Bram Stoker Award. He is also a talented musician.
