Ben Dylan Aaronovitch is a London fantasy author best known for his Rivers of London urban fantasy series featuring Peter Grant, a mixed-race police constable and apprentice wizard. He has also written for Doctor Who.

Born in Camden, Aaronovitch is the son of economist Sam Aaronovitch, who was a senior member of the Communist Party of Great Britain, and the younger brother of actor Owen Aaronovitch and journalist David Aaronovitch. He married Marie Fofana in 1992.
