(Sept. 3, 1949–March 18, 2008)

P. Allen Curry of Los Angeles, Cincinnati and, ultimately, Ypsilanti, Michigan, published the fanzine Gnomenclature.

His friend Mike Glicksohn wrote of him:

"We had known each other for more than 35 years. I won't deny that a lot of shared time had a bottle of whiskey or some beer glasses between us but he was so much more than the archetype of a drunken Irishman.

"Al was quite literally a larger-than-life-figure. He was a very big man with a very big appetite. He was also a fine poet, an acceptable cartoonist, a superb and produced musician and a truly fine (if professionally unpublished) writer. He was one of the people I would have been delighted to grow up to be."
