FantaSci 2022
FantaSci 2022 was a convention held March 25–27, 2022 in Raleigh-Durham, NC. The GoH was to be Eric Flint, but in early March the con chair Joel Lyons announced that he would not be able to attend "due to circumstances beyond his control […] Since we are so close to FantaSci 2022, the ConCom has decided to keep Mr. Flint as FantaSci 2022 Guest of Honor in Absentia. Thanks to the willingness of our Lifetime Guests Mark Wandrey and Chris Kennedy, we have been able to cover any gaps in programming."
The Music GoH were the Dimensional Riffs. There were also Special Guests were listed: Stephanie Osborn, Dr. Charles Gannon, Faith Hunter, and Taylor Anderson (not listed on https://fantasci.rocks/2022-guest-bios/ , possibly couldn't attend), further Guests, not to mention "Lifetime Guests of Honor" (beside above-mentioned Wandrey and Kennedy, David Weber, all with their spouses).
Judging from the con's social media and other reports (the section for "Historical Pages" on their website is empty), FantaSci has been held since 2019 as "one of the sister cons that sprang up from The Royal Manticoran Navy’s now-defunct HonorCon, in the form of a multi-fandom con with emphasis on the works of David Weber and the ever-growing Four Horseman Universe helmed by Mark Wandrey and Chris Kennedy." This might explain the logo's tagline "The Tradition Lives!"
It must not be confused with another FantaSci, "annual fantasy and science fiction mini-con" held by Chesapeake, Virginia Public Library in July.
