VCON 39 was held October 3-5, 2014 at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford hotel in Vancouver, BC. The GoHs were David Weber, David Mattingly, and Bruce Heard. This was also Canvention 34 whose GoHs will be Tarol Hunt and Melissa Mary Duncan.

The convention theme was: Military Might -- From Swords & Sorcery to Phasers & Grasers.

The new Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame was inaugurated as part of Canvention 34. The inductees will be Phyllis Gotlieb, Judith Merril, Dennis Mullin, Robert J. Sawyer, A. E. van Vogt, Susan Wood, William Gibson, and Spider and Jeanne Robinson.
