Randal F. Smith is a BArea convention fan active since the 1970s. He has worked on numerous cons, including FanHistoriCon 8 in 1998 and as Hugo Area Manager at ConJosé, the 2002 Worldcon. He has contributed to such fanzines as YHOS.

Originally from Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, in mundane life, Randy is a United Methodist pastor with a church in Palo Alto, CA. As a result, he frequently appears on con panels on “Religion and SF” and related topics. He has been married to Tupou Smith since 2004.
