A Minneapolis fan in the 30s and 40s who published the fanzine Tycho, and was a member of the Minneapolis Fantasy Society. In the late 40s he collaborated with Poul Anderson on the short story "The Entity" which was Anderson's fifth published story and Gergern's only.
