Chicon 7 used some of its surplus to create the endowment for the Northern Illinois University Archives, curated at the time by Lynne M. Thomas in June 2015. The Endowment is intended to advance the library's efforts to collect materials related to SF, fantasy, and horror, and to make those materials available to the public. It is named for Chicon 7 Fan GoH Peggy Rae Sapienza with Steven H Silver serving as the the fund's trustee.
