Eugie Foster Memorial Award

The Eugie Foster Memorial Award for Short Fiction or Eugie was started in 2016 to honor Eugie Foster. It recognizes speculative fiction works of less than 20000 words which were first published in English in the previous year.

The selection process begins with a longlist of nominations from publishers and editors, supplemented by choices of select readers. A selection committee of speculative fiction fans chooses the finalists, who each receive a commemorative pin. The winner is chosen by a panel of judges, and receives a plaque and a $1000 prize which are presented at Dragon Con, for which Foster was one of the organizers for many years.
