Bill Kunkel

(1950 — September 4, 2011)

Fan artist Kunkel's artwork consisted of satirical cartoons. He published Genook and Rats! (with his wife Charlene Kunkel), Doodlebug (with Laurie Yates). He published Four-Star Extra with Charlene and also Arnie Katz, and Joyce Katz. He was a contributor to Trap Door.

He also co-founded the first magazine devoted to video and computer games, Electronic Games. Kunkel worked as a game designer, a comic book writer, and professional cartoonist. The Kunkel Awards for video game journalism are named after him. (See
