ASFO

(1) A Club in Atlanta

A club located in Atlanta in the early 50s. Its unofficial organ was also called ASFO (see below). See the Fancyclopedia 2 article, below for more on the club. It also published Science Fiction Digest.

The Atlanta, Georgia SF Organization, whose wheels were various Dixie fans like Macauley, Burwell, and others. In full swing by July 1951, they accomplished a notable feat of fan publishing by getting out a hard-cover edition of Sam Moskowitz's The Immortal Storm.

A fanzine which was the unofficial organ of the Atlanta Science-Fiction Organization and which was published by Ian Macauley.
