WiGGLe

WiGGLe was a monthly social meeting of filkers that was held held in a pub in London until attendance dropped off to the point it was no longer viable. It continues in a more limited form as SWiGGLe.

The name comes from the founders having filked the Smurf song and sung it on stage at Follycon. They said to themselves "We're Gonna Get Lynched" and worked out the group's name from that.

After WiGGLe collapsed, the organizers set up quarterly a Singing WiGGLe held at the end of April, July and October (the fourth quarter is covered by the British Filk Convention in February). Meetings start at 1:30 and singing starts when enough people have shown up. For a period, meetings were normally held at the Aquarius Archery Club in Finchley, but they are now being held in peoples' houses.

Rafe Culpin continues to publish a monthly filk newsletter that grew out of it.

Club ????????
This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
