A high profile British convention failure. Started in 1979, and due to have Forrest J Ackerman as GoH, it had very grandiose plans, and kept changing venue and come 6th of August 1984, those who turned up at the Central Hall, Westminster, London just got a bald notice saying it was cancelled. Its £280k budget would have required 15000 members, much bigger than any event at the time, and in the event members and suppliers lost lots of money.
