Slovak Sokel Hall
A "gloomy" hall at 358 Morris Ave, Newark, NJ which was the site of many early conventions and fan gatherings. In spite of its limitations, the space was attractive because there was a bar downstairs and the proprietor rented the meeting place for a pittance ($3!) to any group that might be likely to patronize his liquid refreshments before and after.
|1938||Fourth Eastern convention|
|1945||First meeting of the Null-A Men (and continued site of ESFA meetings|
|1948||1948 Open ESFA and subsequent Open ESFAs|
