Faster Than Light Radio was a fan-run radio show airing from 1990 to 2015 on WUSB 90.1 FM, the radio station at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. The show’s tagline was “making the unusual usual and the bizarre ‘zarre” and the show’s mascot was Squoot The Mouse. The show featured interviews, movie reviews, science fiction-themed music, and convention updates.

In addition, the show features a segment called “Choose Your Torture” in which a snippet of two bad pieces of music (such as Leonard Nimoy singing “If I Had A Hammer” and William Shatner singing “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”). Listeners had to call in and vote for the song they wanted to hear least. The song with the least amount of votes was what listeners were subjected to on the following weeks show. Notable interviews include Tory Belleci and Kari Byron from the Mythbusters, Dr. Demento, and Rapid T. Rabbit. Regular contributors to the show included Jesse Flint, John Madonia, John Cornetto, Russel Skadl, Colleen Skadl, Terrence Reilly, Toby Pomen, Aakin Patel, Darrin Brown, and Lincoln Kliman.
