Bill Trojan, a fan from Eugene, Oregon, was a huckster and owner of Escape Books. He organized Orcon, a convention to be held in 1977, but was forced to cancel it.

When Portland was bidding for the 1990 Westercon he ran a campaign for people to vote "Both" since the 4th of July was a Wednesday and Portland in '90 was bidding for the weekend after the 4th and their opponent was bidding for the weekend before. He also promoted the hoax convention Trojancon to be held at his house before the 1990 Portland Westercon 43.

He died in a hotel room in Reno, NV, shortly after Renovation, which he had attended.
