Madeleine L'Engle Camp, an American writer, was best known for YA fiction, including, most famously, A Wrinkle in Time (1962) — the first sf novel read by untold numbers of fen who grew up in the 1960s and ’70s — and its sequels: A Wind in the Door (1973), A Swiftly Tilting Planet (1978), Many Waters (1986) and An Acceptable Time (1989), sometimes called the “Time Quintet.”
