Nippon 2007, the 65th Worldcon and first in Japan, was held August 30–September 3, 2007, at the Pacifico Yokohama. GoHs: Sakyo Komatsu, David Brin, Yoshitaka Amano, and Michael Whelan. FGoH: Takumi Shibano. Chair: Hiroaki Inoue.

Nippon 2007 defeated DC in 007 and Columbus in 2007 in the 2007 Worldcon Site Selection. (Note that the name of the Nippon 2007 bid was the same as the name of the convention.)

The 2007 Hugos and 2009 Worldcon Site Selection were held.

3,348 members attended out of a total 5,149.

Nippon 2007 initially reported a loss of about $40,000, but in December 2011, at the 2011 Smofcon, it increased the estimate to at least $70,000 while announcing a new bid for 2017. In August, 2012 at Chicon 7 it announced that the remaining loss was around $84,000 after having received around $30,000 in donations.
