The 1965 Best Dramatic Presentation Hugo was presented August 30 at Loncon II. Only first place finishers were announced. Because of an error by the Loncon II committee, the category was not on the nomination ballot and the two nominees on the final ballot came from write-ins.

Winner: Dr. Strangelove (1964) [Hawk Films/Columbia] Screenplay by Stanley Kubrick and Terry Southern and Peter George; Directed by Stanley Kubrick; based on the novel Red Alert by Peter George

Runner-up: The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao (1964) [MGM] Screenplay by Charles Beaumont; Directed by George Pal; based on the novel The Circus of Dr. Lao by Charles G. Finney
